An undercover investigation leads to Highland Park.

By City News Service

Two men were jailed Thursday night, following an undercover investigation by Long Beach police that netted 12 pounds of drugs, $118,000 in cash and nine guns.

Police were targeting heroin dealers in the investigation that led them to a house in the 7500 block of Jaboneria Road in Bell Gardens. A search there uncovered 3 1/2 pounds of heroin and 2 1/2 pounds of crystal methamphetamine and police arrested 21-year-old Oscar Salmoran.

Search warrants were later served at three other locations Wednesday, leading to the arrest of Domingo Payan, 56, at a residence in the 5300 block of Aldama Street in Highland Park. Officers discovered six pounds of heroin and nearly $50,000 in cash there.

The guns and more cash were found in two houses in the 2700 block of Montecito Street, also in Los Angeles. Salmoran is being held without bail and Payan's bail is set at $100,000.
