Patch Blog: Let's Share The Wealth of the Hill

Let's share our coveted gradients with all who venture to tame them with courage, ingenuity and glee.

I have found a place to Blog.

Finally, I feel from the constraints of the physical world. From this position, I can see my dreams. If I could build a monorail that circled Mount Washington my life would be complete.

But, that's another story. I grew up, well ... lets just say I have lived on The Hill all of my freedom loving life, and still do. I made quite a mess of my life. And, long story short, have been given a second chance to bring some peace to the end. "Strange and wonderful," as my father likes to say.

So, lets get on with it shall we.  The monorail aside, I think its time for Mount Washington to take advantage of its namesake Drive, perhaps while instituting a new tradition or two.

Traditions, as we all know, are good for families and communities alike. The strip of Mount Washington Drive below the Self Realization Fellowship is a gentle grade of winding road, which is virtually uninhabited. It's a blank Alpine slate, if you will.

I know what you're thinking; a parade of some kooky nature would be awesome. However, lets not phone this one in, OK? We're better than that. I'm thinking something a little more bullish--Red Bullish even--like an annual soap box race.

That's good juvenile fun for all ages. Malibu called--they can hear your inner PTA fretting from all the way over there, so tone it down a notch, will ya?  We can do this!

Frankly, there's a palpable aura of Hill envy in the neighborhood and we need to bridge that gap before things get ugly.  Let's share our coveted gradients with all who venture to tame them with courage, ingenuity and glee.  Or, we can do something else.

I'm (full disclosure) not much of a "doer."  That is to say, we're going to need some help getting this badboy up and running. Shout-out to all the adrenaline junkies out there, come get your fix. For Dads and MIT grads we got a father-mother-son-daughter project that may produce a family-wide full of pride trophy; now that's local. We be spoiled Hill folk yo! Its time to share the wealth.
