La Cuevita Gets Groovy on Sunday

Local musicians bring live Jazz every week.

Sunday evenings are now a little bit groovier!  For the past few months, La Cuevita--formerly known as The Little Cave--has been the hot spot for live jazz music in the Highland Park area.  The bar’s naturally quaint setting has provided quite the ambiance for the music, which has been received positively by the weekend bar-goers.

Each week, The Northeast Groove Ensemble, started by local musicians Robert Nava (Drums) and Christian Castillo (Upright Bass), plays everything from Coltrane to Mingus and even many funky originals.  The combo, which also features a guitar and alto saxophone, begin their set at 6:30 p.m., while patrons enjoy special cocktails and a happy hour that lasts rather deep into the jazzy night.
