Free Concert in the Park (Pasadena Community Orchestra): Light Music, Raffle Prizes!

Kick off your

summer with an evening of the best of what southern California has to offer:

friends and family sharing a picnic in the park, fun music, and a chance

to win stuff! (It’s better than the Hollywood Bowl, because it’s FREE,

including the parking.)  Music Director Bethany Pflueger (a Sierra

Madre resident) finishes out her first season with the orchestra. For her

first concert in the park, Pflueger follows the program traditions of PCO’s

previous two music directors. This year’s program includes three patriotic

marches, classics like Strauss’ Blue

Danube Waltz
 and

that “Beef: It’s what’s for dinner” theme (name that tune!), as well as music

from The Pink Panther, The Sound of

Music
, and the theme

from the old TV series, “Alfred Hitchcock Presents.”  Bring your

picnic dinner and relax on the lawn; and bring your friends and family

(kids can listen to live classical music and see or talk with the musicians,

play when they want to, and participate in the beloved Children’s March).

Enter the raffle for prizes like theater tickets and gourmet

goodies.  And don’t forget the “conductor’s raffle”:  the

winner will lead the orchestra (free lessons from our Music Director

included!).
