I think Action Item # 10 is a bit unfortunate. It appears ten minutes is a lot of time to devote to a discussion basicly on how adults should talk to one another. I would think that after 5 minutes of meandering hitherto & forth on the subect, that Monica would have the good sense to table it, & move on. Provided of course nothing meaningful is being suggested. I might say again, we are all individuals, you know. Personalities, & just plain people. Everyone has difficulties being human. It isn't easy to be an American these days, & the truth be told, these are some very difficult days indeed. If this were church, we'd start with prayer. The NC still can do so, if ALL are agreed. If not, a moment of silence, with a secular, or non-sectarian affirmation, would be appropriate. Just to remind all that the duty of public service is serious, solemn & members approach one another in a neighborly way. With a little understanding, & compassion. That's all. Getting back to the Agenda. Land Use Committee must be formed ASAP. Citizens up near the Optimist Home on Fig. have organized against proposed 9 Unit Dev. on Burwood, behind the Market. My dad lives on Crestwood. There have been sever water drainage issues in the past. Besides the Budget, this is a top priority concern. So, I suggest a Land Use Committee be seated ASAP. May I say, this looks like a very good board. I think they can work fine together. Consider the moment of silence. Other elected bodies do it. It has it's place.
