Biog: Little Faith Band Adds Gospel to Lummis Day Music Mix

Little Faith, a gospel music group, will perform at Lummis Day, Sunday June 2

For the first time since it began eight years ago, the Lummis Day Festival (Sunday, June 2) will present a band working in the gospel music tradition on one of the four performance stages at Heritage Square Museum.

Little Faith was formed in 2010 by veteran Mt. Washington organist, composer (and novelist) Jack Maeby with guitarist Nelson Blanton to record traditional spiritual songs and to highlight the role of the gospel tradition in spawning American roots music.

The members of Little Faith have performed and recorded with Natalie Cole, Etta James, Solomon Burke, Robin Thicke, Patti LaBelle, Aaron Neville, Billy Ray Cyrus, the Chambers Brothers, Dr. John, Robbie Krieger, Carly Simon, Wilson Phillips and many other well-known artists.

The band's second album, "Shelter," was released in 2012 and has received airplay around the country.
