What's Jose Gardea Doing at Rolling Robots?

Highland Park native Jose Gardea, who lost to lapsed Assemblymember Gil Cedillo by only around 700 votes in the CD 1 May election, was spotted Tuesday with his family while taking some time off from active politics.

Accompanied by his wife Susana and their son Sebastian, Gardea popped into the recently opened Rolling Robots store for robotics-minded kids in Glendale, a stone's throw from the L.A. border on the corner of Glendale Boulevard and San Fernando Road.

Gardea told Highland Park-Mount Washington Patch that after his much-needed break from all the activity during his election campaign, he might return to work for the city of Los Angeles or do something quite different, such as teach college students in a field he's well-versed in and that's close to his heart: Politics or public policy.
