At the final ASNC candidate forum held last night a question was put forth by the moderator Terrence Gomes. I do not remember the question word-for -word but the bottom line was:
“What do you think about Hermon and its decision to break away from the ASNC and start its own Neighborhood Council”
Two positions were taken:
The B2B Slate candidates all concurred that if it is what Hermon wanted then that is what Hermon should do.
All of the PRESERVE ASNC candidates were adamant in their opposition to Hermon succeeding from the ASNC.
The facts are (and ALL candidates present agreed) that:
- Hermon is part of the ASNC
- Hermon is an active empowered community
- Hermon is getting people involved and finding out what they want
The absurdity of it all is, to stop tiny little Hermon, (a neighborhood soooooo… small to be it's own Neighborhood Council) the PRESERVE ASNC slate is now calling out reinforcements from all over Northeast L.A.
"Paranoia strikes deep Into your life it will creep It starts when you're always afraid You step out of line, the man come and take you away.
We better stop, hey, what's that sound? Everybody look what's going down"
