What Do You Think of This Mural Makeover?

Some new smiling faces can now be found on the Avenue 58 mural.

Previousy depicting a pair of seemingly down-trodden children being watched over by Jesus Christ, a recent update to the mural in the public parking lot on Avenue 58 has been filled in with a group of smiling youngsters.

Our only photo of the previous mural was taken at night, so perhaps it makes the children look more glum than they really area. Nevertheless, this latest addition to the mural is certainly sunnier.

Your thoughts?

No diversity here.

What group painted the mural and who funded it? A few years ago neighborhood councils gave money to a group to help do murals. All their samples had only one race in it. No diversity. I voted no money without diversity. I was the sole no vote. I don't remember what group asked for the money. No diversity should mean no money. What other group would we allow to do such a thing, not one white, black, asian or other. But then look at Councilmember Ed Reyes office and his campaign material, not one white, black, asian or other. They do not believe in diversity.

The same people that cry, cry, cry for diversity are the same ones that refuse to give it.

A- to- the- men, brothas and sistas. Last time I checked, Jesus was more than likely African/ Arabic. Why he is never depicted any other way than "whitey, the white guy" is just as false as seeing only one race depicted in the characters of the children. FAIL!

I have never seen a white Jesus but it may be due to heaven for them is in the sky with clouds and the clouds are white. I think the Jesus in the picture looks black and blue. It is rather odd.

I guess the boy carrying the yellow backpack with the hat that says "rice" is supposed to be Asian?
