The music of Ali Flores aka Mexmillion

Come join us in enjoying the great music of Ali Flores aka Mexmillion. Ali will be spinning the tunes at the art opening for Mr Antwon Jackson, from 6:00pm to 10:00pm, September 10th, NELA ARTWALK night.

Bred on Classic Hip Hop, Ali Flores aka Mexmillion
remembers getting Jam Master Jay's autograph when Run DMC performed at The Skating Plus in Ventura, CA with Egyptian Lover. At the time RUN DMC was promoting “Sucker MC's " and" It's Like That “single in 1984.

Originating from Oxnard CA, Ali Flores aka Mexmillion envisions a diverse universe through music. The boom bap is always the essence. Building on Classic Hop Hop drums, music from all genres and parts of the world fly in to create a laid back and funky party vibe. Now based in Highland Park /Los Angeles, Mexmillion draws on the LA landscape to provide creative inspiration. Good Music is the only way Mexmillion categorizes music. You might hear a Columbian
Cumbia over a 60's French break then abruptly go into a bongo solo with scratching phrases over it. Nothing is off limit. The end of the "aka Mexamillion" has Ali mixing Tigers Del Norte into Planet Rock under Manu Chao. Depending on the vibe, Mexmillion is also known to bust a quick verse as Spitball from the bugged out / Southern Cali sampled based MC duo, The Earthquake Institute.

Sticking with the party vibe is always the mission.  Mexmillion believes the interaction between cultures is facilitated through music. Dope music is dope music, Mexmillion lives to create and mostly, participate. Yes yes y'all.

Along with the art and music we have a fundraiser for Marc and Eva HS's drillteam and afterschool leadership programs. Come join in the support and the festivities!
