For this year's Summer Fun Meeting we have invited some members of the local Salvadoran community to provide refreshments and entertainment. This means fabulous pupusas and marimba music. Everyone in Los Angeles benefits from the many, many ethnic cultures of the people that settle here and on July 17 we will learn about the Angelinos that have immigrated from El Salvador. Come taste the food and drinks and catch up with your Mount Washington friends and neighbors.
In addition, both the Mt. Washington Elementary School PTA and Friends of Mt. Washington Elementary School will be there. There will also be a Theodore Payne Native Plant Sale and advice on low and no-water plantings. Your Mt. Washington Micro Farmers will also be on hand to talk about vegetable gardening. Finally, Occidental College will show views of their solar project and update us on a community solar rebate program.
