No experience necessary!  Anyone over 5 can participate! Come ride through a trembler, dodge a wildfire, survive a disaster, and have fun while doing it! This meeting will help prepare you for the real thing the following Saturday (10/22).

Get a sneak peak of what to expect at the largest theater and outdoor play *ever* produced in Northeast Los Angeles! At the dress rehearsal, victims will practice simulating their injuries, stagehands will be fitted with appropriate assignments, and makeup artists will learn which wounds they need to create.  Victims:  wear old clothes to the dress rehearsal and drill.

  • Victims:  must have good acting skills and ability to play an injured, trapped, psychologically distressed, or unconscious person for at least 20 minutes (without laughing or breaking composure). Emergency CERT responders (for real) will practice first aid skills and apply bandages to wounds, etc.   Must be willing to have makeup applied to simulate a predesignated injury (laceration, impalement, open fracture, etc).   Coaches will be on hand to teach how to convincingly act for each type of injury.  Victims are encouraged to camp it as much as possible but still look convincing.
  • Stagehands: report to the directors of the play (aka Command Post).   Must be willing to help with duties such as setup, food, parking,  greeting, set construction, teardown, and festival activities. Sounds like boring work so to make up these folks get a special lunch
  • FX Effects & Makeup: must like putting makeup on others and should love Halloween.  Must have dressed up as zombie or quirky monster within the past 5 years. Preference given to experience with moulage of bloody wounds, jagged object impalements, or burns on hands or face.
  • Comedians:  must have at least 3 disaster jokes to share, should know how to liven up a crowd, and must have experience performing in dangerous environments.

TO BE IN THE PLAY, POTENTIAL ACTORS AND SUPPORT STAFF SHOULD ATTEND THIS IMPORTANT DRESS REHERSAL.
