Patch Picks: Summer Day Camps

Summer learning opportunities offered nearby Highland Park.

Parents with school aged children have the challenging task of figuring out what to do with their kids during summer vacation. We’ve tracked down several programs in the area that will keep your kids busy on their lengthy break from school.

1. The Audubon Center at Debs Park runs An Arroyo Adventure. The summer day camp concentrates on hands on activities, which will give campers insight on nature and the history of the local culture. Applications will be available on April 4. Additional information can be obtained by calling (323) 221-2255.

2. Art camps at the Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock are available for youth between the ages of six and 11-years-old. Campers can get creative in a number of areas including arts and crafts, theatre, cooking, yoga and dance.  The camp runs Monday through Friday from June until August and costs $225 per week for members, while non-members pay $250 per week.
