York Park Site Gets Graffiti Whitewash

After weeks, finally some action.

For at least a couple of weeks, a whole quarter of the far-end wall bordering the quarter-acre vacant land on the southwest corner of Avenue 50 and York Boulevard, adjacent to Café de Leche in Highland Park, was covered with graffiti. This is of course the site of an upcoming public park that will be the newest addition to L.A.’s “50 Parks Initiative.” On Thursday—or perhaps the day before—the wall finally got a whitewashing by the city's graffiti-busting crews. What a relief—at least for now.
