NELAart is now seeking submissions for its second film night, to be held at at the on Thursday, Dec. 6.
"We are seeking new and independent filmmakers of all topics, in all genres, for a screening at the historic Highland Theatre in the heart of Highland Park, before an audience of film aficionados, professionals, and neighborhood fans eager to see new work," a press-release provided by NELAart states.
Submissions can touch on any topic and come from both the fields of fiction or documentary. The only criteria, according to NELAart, is that they must be shorter than 20 minutes.
, according to organizer Cathi Milligan. She's hoping the audience will only grow from there.
"We would love for this festival to start making a little money so we can put it in the NELA kitty and use it for other projects," Milligan said. July's event just about broke even, Milligan said, covering the cost of the theater rental.
As film night grows, organizers have visions of establishing a NELA-wide film festival, with showings of film night's finest films held at multiple venues over a series of three days.
"I'd really like to see that come together by the end of 2013," Milligan said.
Submissions for December's film night are due by October 12. The entry free is $15. For more information about submitting, contact: firstname.lastname@example.org, attn: Alessandro Gentile - Film Series Director/Programmer
