5 Last Minute Halloween Activities in Highland Park
Looking for some Halloween fun? There are plenty of activities to enjoy for kids and adults in Highland Park this weekend.
From harvest festivals, to canine costume contests to historical haunts, Highland Park offers no shortage of Halloween activities this year.

1. Eighth Annual Halloween and Mourning Tour at Heritage Square Museum

When: Sunday, Oct. 30, 12-4 p.m.

What: Children ages 2 to 12 are welcome come play period games, make 19th century harvest crafts, choose a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch (while supplies last), and listen to spooky stories in the Ford House by the San Gabriel Valley Storytellers.
Cost: Museum admission prices are $10.00 for Adults, $8.00 for Seniors over 65, $5.00 for Children 6 to 12 years, and Free for Children under 6 and Museum members.
2. Stair Street Ghosts Haunt Mount Angelus
Where: The corner of Mt. Angelus Drive and Livermore Terrace
When: Sunday , Oct. 30, 3-6 p.m.
What: Stair Street Ghosts is a self guided historic walking tour, featuring art installations, performers, Halloween activities for kids, and a Halloween parade with ghostly historic figures. Noted local stair street guidebook authors will also be on hand to share their historical knowledge. Come in costume!

3. HOWL-oween Yappy Hour Costume Contest and Peanut Butter Lick-Off at Hermon Dog Park
Where: 5586 Via Marisol-Hermon Park
When: Sunday, Oct. 30, 3-5 p.m.
What: Yappy Hours are hosted by The Friends of Hermon Dog Park and are held on the last Sunday of every month. This month, owners are encouraged to bring their dogs in costume for an informal costume contest.
Cost: Free
4. Hermon Community Church Harvest Festival
Where: 5710 Monterey Road (the empty lot by Hermon Church)
When: Monday, Oct. 31, 5-9 p.m.
What: Hermon Community Church invites families to a safe Halloween alternative – the community’s annual costume HermonHarvest Festival. There will be games, prizes, music and food.

5. Trick or Treating at Heritage Square Museum
Where: Heritage Square Museum, 3800 Homer Street, Los Angeles, CA 90031
When: Monday, Oct. 31 4-7 p.m.
What: Heritage Square Museum will open its doors to children on Halloween for trick-or-treating in a safe environment. Children 1 to 12 years of age, with parent accompaniment, may come in costume and receive sweet treats from our costumed interpreters stationed at each building.
Cost: $5 for Adults and $2 for children 6 to 12
