L.A. Department of Transportation Unveils Mobile-Friendly Public Transit Website

Save the site ladottransit.com on your mobile phone.

The Los Angeles Department of Transportation unveiled a mobile-friendly version of its public transit website Tuesday.

The revamped website, located at ladottransit.com, resembles a smartphone application, with large navigation buttons that allow DASH and Commuter Express riders to call up a trip planner, route maps, schedules and service alerts.

Transportation officials said they used a technique called "responsive web design" that enables the web page to scale to the size of the screen, whether it is on a phone, tablet or desktop computer.
