Five Things You Need to Know Today: Jan. 18

Tuesday is bustling with things to do in Highland Park.

1. If you’ve never been to the Old L.A. Certified Farmer’s Market and Outdoor Fair, today would be a good opportunity to do so. Stroll around and see what the local vendors have to offer. Pick up farm fresh produce or grab a quick bite to eat. The Old L.A. Farmer’s market takes place from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m on Marmion Way near the Gold Line stop.

2. L.A. Kids arts and craft classes, as well as guitar classes begin today at the Highland Park Recreation Center. Both class are offered at no cost and begin at 4 p.m. Sign your child up by visiting the online activity catalog.

 3. Grab your drawing supplies and head over to Ave. 50 Studio. The studio offers a drawing workshop every Tuesday night from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m., where models will flex in different poses. Ave. 50 Studio enhances the drawing experience by playing background music while you sketch. They also provide refreshments and free parking. A $12 donation is suggested to participate in the class.

 5. With the weather as nice as it has been, get out on the town and see what the local businesses have to offer. Stop by and enjoy a nice meal. Folliero’s offers a variety of traditional pastas, pizza, sandwiches, and salads. Folliero’s is located at 5566 North Figueroa Avenue.
