Attacked Giants Fan Brian Stow will be Moved to San Francisco

Stow is still in critical condition, but is well enough to return home.

Brian Stow, the Giants Fan who was brutally beaten outside Dodgers Stadium following their opening day game in March, will be moved to a San Francisco area hospital on Monday.

Through he is still in critical condition, Stow's sister, Erin Collins, said the paramedic and father of two's condition has improved enough to allow him to leave USC Medical Center.

Collins made her announcement during an appearance she made at the Glassell Park Senior Center prior to 2011 Peace in the Northeast March, held on Saturday, May 14.

"The good news is, we get to home. We're taking Brian home on Monday," she said. "We're taking Brian home when he is ready to go, and he's got to know that he has all of you as family."

Collins family members said that Stow has recently shown some mild signs of improvement, such as the ability to lighty squeeze their hands.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Stow will be moved to San Francisco General Hospital.

On Saturday, Collins thanked the gathered crowd during the trying days that have followed the March 31 attack.

"I look around and I see all these people who are here for the same reason, and whether you like it or not, you guys are part of our family now. We couldn't have made it through this without this type of support," she said.

Collins also spoke about the collateral damage caused by violence, saying that like many of those in the crowd who had lost loved ones to gang related shootings, she was left to deal with the emotial trauma of her brother's attack.

"I see the signs people are holding and what people need to realize is when you do an act of violence, you're not just hurting that person, you're literally hurting and victimizing the people associated with them. Their family, their friends, their children," she said. "It has to stop."

Stow's attackers, described by witnesses as a pair of young Latino males with shaved heads,  remain at large. The Los Angeles Police Department has offered up a $50,000 for any information that leads to an arrest. Composite sketches of the suspects can be found in the box to the right.
