Community Corner

Seeking Graphic/Production artist

I'm looking for a graphic artist to assist and then eventually replace me at Lummis Day Community Foundation. There may be a small stipend of $500. The artist must live in Los Angeles and understand the Lummis way of doing things. We'll show you.

Application process:
Letter of interest, resume, 3 - 5 samples (pdf, print res) or links to relevant projects. (Student projects, okay) to terri@terrilloyd.net

After acceptance of qualifications, there will be a brief interview.

Role and Responsibilities:
Assist Art Director for local non-profit cultural and education group; design and develop marketing and festival graphics. Mostly production duties, with design opportunities for flyers, ads, event tickets, posters, post cards, event program, and more. You may be required to attend meetings from time to time and interact with advertising sales department.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

You will be an adventurous, hungry and energetic creative looking to hop aboard Mr. Toad’s wild ride into a live set of projects that will compliment your portfolio and creative skill set. Your main job will be to maintain a keen sense of humor and keep the Art Director sane (if you are familiar with The Crazy Ones, and want to work in that environment, this is the project for you!)

Additional skills required will be the usual Adobe suspects of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. You will love and be passionate about typography, print media design, spell check, web graphics and maybe even social media functions. You will have an understanding and respect of brand integrity. You will take art direction well and not be afraid to offer up a better mousetrap when necessary. You understand the importance of adhering to deadlines and communicate clearly.

Must have own computer, internet access.

Additional Notes:
If you have commitment issues, trouble communicating or adhering to a schedule, please do not apply.
