1. Kiwanis Meet Ahead of Cedillo Listening Tour
The Kiwanis Club of Highland Park is scheduled to hold its weekly board meeting today, Thursday, Oct. 10, to discuss ideas to provide to Councilmember Gil Cedillo during his Listening Tour of Highland Park in the Franklin High School cafeteria later in the evening starting at 6:30 p.m. (see next item below). The Kiwanis will meet as usual at Milo Terrace Baptist Church Community Room, 754 N. Avenue 50, from noon to 1:30 p.m. The meeting is free; lunch is $5 at the door. As always, attendees are encouraged to bring their ideas for a better Highland Park.

Councilmember Gil Cedillo's next stop on his districtwide Listening Tour is scheduled Thursday, Oct. 10, starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Franklin High School café, located at 820 N. Ave. 54. The event is aimed at gathering information about issues in Highland Park, and Highland Park residents are particularly encouraged to attend.

The Mount Washington Local Issues Committee of the Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council is scheduled to meet Thursday, Oct. 10, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Mt. Washington Elementary SchoolLibrary located at 3981 San Rafael Ave. Among the items on the agenda are: Review of results from an ASNC survey regarding Mt. Washington; discussion of clean up day for Marmion Way; call for nominations for committee chair.
4. ASNC Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee meeting
Mark your calendars: The Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee of the Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council is scheduled to meet on Friday, Oct. 11, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Jack in the Box franchise located at 4228 North Figueroa St., 90065. The meeting's agenda includes discussions on Los Angeles Fire Department station boundaries and Community Emergency Response Team drills for Monterey Hills. Click here for more information.
