1. Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council Land Use Committee meeting

The Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council Land Use Committee is scheduled to meet today, Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Hathaway Sycamore Family Resource Center, located at 840 N. Ave. 66. Among the items on the meeting's agenda is a discussion surrounding a recent directive from HHPNC Board to work with the Council District 1 office to implement a complete street and cohesive design plan for the entire North Figueroa Street corridor.

Mark your calendars: The Kiwanis Club of Highland Park is scheduled to hold its weekly board meeting tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 30. The Kiwanis will meet as usual at Milo Terrace Baptist Church Community Room, 754 N. Avenue 50, from noon to 1:30 p.m. The meeting is free; lunch is $5 at the door. As always, attendees are encouraged to bring their ideas for a better Highland Park.
