Franklin Fundraiser, Alliance of River Communities

The Franklin High School Associated Student Body is scheduled to host a fundraiser today, Wednesday, at 4 p.m. at Yogurt Haven, located at 2256 Colorado Blvd. in Eagle Rock. The frozen yogurt store will donate 15 percent of proceeds from your bill to Franklin's ASB. Don't have the time today to attend? No worries—the fundraiser lasts until Oct. 4.
2. Alliance of River Communities
Mark your calendars: The Alliance of River Communities, which represents neighborhood councils stretching from Los Feliz and Eagle Rock to the Hollywood freeway, is scheduled to meet Thursday, Sept. 26, starting at 7 p.m. at the Glassell Park Community Center located at 3750 N. Verdugo Rd., CA 90065. Topics on the meeting’s agenda include an update on signage along the L.A. River jogging/biking path, a report on the Greater Echo Park Elysian Neighborhood Council’s Greening the Block program, updates from the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners, and a brief discussion about how Neighborhood Councils can weigh in on the Consolidation of Planning and Building & Safety Departments.
