2. Cedillo's Listening Tour
Councilmember Gil Cedillo's 2013 Listening Tour comes to Montecito Heights today, Tuesday, Oct. 1. A community forum aimed at focusing on key neighborhood issues, the event will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Montecito Heights Senior Citizen Recreation Center, located at 4545 Homer St., 90031. Attendees are expected to form small groups to brainstorm ideas for projects covering the fields of Public Safety, Economic Development, Arts and Culture, Clean Streets, and the Environment. 3. Food Truck Feast
Highland Park’s weekly food truck feast unfolds at 5:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 1, in the parking lot in front of the former Figueroa Produce building, located at 6312 N. Figueroa St. Food trucks from across Los Angeles are expected to be there until 9 p.m. Stay tuned for details.
4. 'Violence Girl' Alice Bag book talk
Alice Bag, author of “Violence Girl: East L.A.
