Celebrate Historic Preservation, Camera Ad-Hoc Committee

1. Celebrate historic preservation

Ebell Club, located on 131 S. Ave. 57, is scheduled to host a welcome reception for the recently opened Los Angeles office of the National Trust for Historic Preservation today, Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  

2. HHPNC Camera Ad-Hoc Committee meeting

The Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council Camera Ad-Hoc Committee is scheduled to meet tonight, Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the Highland Park Recreation Center located on 6150 Piedmont Ave., from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Mark your calendars: Pop-Hop Books & Prints, the cozy, eclectic studio that encourages you to shop small, shop local right next to Café de Leche on 5002 York Blvd., will remain open late on the night of Thursday, Dec. 19, to help you with gift ideas from its seasonal specials and selection of books. Your last-minute holiday knitting needs, if any, will also be taken care of. There will be treats.

4. Kiwanis Club meeting

Mark your calendars: The Kiwanis Club of Highland Park is scheduled to hold its weekly board meeting on Thursday, Dec. 19. The Kiwanis will meet as usual at Milo Terrace Baptist Church Community Room, 754 N. Avenue 50, from noon to 1:30 p.m. The meeting is free; lunch is $5 at the door. As always, attendees are encouraged to bring their ideas for a better Highland Park.
