1. Alliance of River Communities
The Alliance of River Communities, which represents neighborhood councils stretching from Los Feliz and Eagle Rock to the Hollywood freeway, is scheduled to meet Thursday, Sept. 26, starting at 7 p.m. at the Glassell Park Community Center located at 3750 N. Verdugo Rd., CA 90065. Topics on the meeting’s agenda include an update on signage along the L.A. River jogging/biking path, a report on the Greater Echo Park Elysian Neighborhood Council’s Greening the Block program, updates from the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners, and a brief discussion about how Neighborhood Councils can weigh in on the Consolidation of Planning and Building & Safety Departments.
2. Kiwanis Club meeting
The Kiwanis Club of Highland Park is scheduled to hold its weekly board meeting today, Thursday, Sept. 26, at Milo Terrace Baptist Church Community Room, 754 N. Avenue 50, from noon to 1:30 p.m. The meeting is free; lunch is $5 at the door. Attendees are encouraged to bring their ideas for a better Highland Park.
3. York Park workshop
