Update: Resident Allegedly Throws Brick at Officers

A pursuit begins after a passenger in a car that officers believe to be stolen flees the scene of the arrest.

Update:

Lieutenant Carlos Solano of the Los Angeles Police Department said that as of 3:40 p.m. all suspects were in custody. "There's no threat to the community," Solano said.

According to Solano, initial police reports that there was an accomplice were not correct.

Officer Perry Scheerer said that police were actually pursuing a resident of Glen Ellen Place who threw a brick at patrolmen while the arrest was being made. The suspect fled the scene after throwing the brick and was not found.

Police are currently pursuing a person who was involved in an alleged car theft at around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon near Avenue 53 and Glen Ellen Place.

According to Sergeant Lisa Phillips, LAPD Northeast Officers arrested one person after checking the plates of the vehicle he was driving and determining it to be stolen. The second person, the vehicle's passenger, fled the scene on foot, according to Phillips.

As of 2 p.m., a LAPD helicopter could still be heard hovering over the neighborhood and a police perimeter had been set-up around Avenue 54 and Glen Ellen Place.

Police could not provide a description of the person being sought at the time of the conversation.
