The 6th Annual Lummis Day Festival was celebrated at two locations this year, the Lummis Home, or El Alisal, on 200 E. Ave 43., and Heritage Square Museum, at 3800 Homer Street.

The second of our two Lummis Day photo galleries presents some sights captured during the celebration that took place at Heritage Square, which comprised numerous live musical acts, puppet shows, dancing, food and resource booths from numerous community groups.

The first of our two Lummis Day photo galleries shows images from inside the Lummis Home, where locals recieved history lessons about Charles Fletcher Lummis, observed arts and crafts inspired by the Arroyo Arts and Crafts movement and strolled through the Lummis garden. You can find that gallery here.

About this column: Sometimes words can't do justice to the vibrancy of life in our neighborhoods. Whether its the green of a not quite ripe avocado at the Old L.A. Certified Farmers' Market or the view of the Southwest Museum of the American Indian from Montecito Heights, some things you have to see to believe. Each week, Neighborhood Viewfinder will bring you those sights. Related Topics: Heritage Square Museum and Lummis Day
