Richard A. Edurson is under arrest for charges of vehicular manslaughter.

Richard A. Edurson, 24, has been arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department on charges of vehicular manslaughter following an accident that killed a pedestrian on North Figueroa Street early Thursday morning.

According to Sergeant Larry Delgado of LAPD's Central Traffic Division, Edurson was found to be under the influence of an intoxicant at the time of the accident.

Central Traffic's incident report states that Edurson was traveling on North Figueroa Street north of Woodside Drive in his vehicle when he lost control and crashed into a pedestrian, who was pinned between Edurson's Jeep and a parked Toyota.

Edurson suffered a broken clavicle bone and a head laceration in the accident.

Correction: An initial report, provided by City News Service, inaccurately indicated that a passenger was ejected from the vehicle and killed. LAPD Central Traffic confirmed this report when speaking to Patch on Thursday morning. However, Sergeant Delgado has stated that there was no passenger ejection. We regret the error.
