LADOT to Complete York Boulevard Bike Lane
When completed, the York Boulevard bicycle lane will extend from Eagle Rock Boulevard to North Figueroa Street.
Traveling along York Boulevard is about to become a far less harrowing proposition for Highland Park cyclists, with the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) confirming on Tuesday that they will be extending the bike lane that terminates at Avenue 55.
LADOT Senior Bicycle Coordinator Michelle Mowery told Patch on Tuesday that the lane should be painted as soon as the sewer rehabilitation project being conducted by the Department of Public Works (DPW) at the intersection of York Boulevard and North Figueroa Street is completed.

The lane will extend .89 miles from Avenue 55 to the intersection of York Boulevard and North Figueroa Street.

While she was unable to provide an exact price tag, Mowery said the project should cost less than $50,000.
"Typically, we spend about $50,000 per mile of bike lane, including staffing and design," she said. "This project is less than a mile long."
