LAPD Releases Name of Highland Park Shooting Victim
Police say 22-year-old Juan José Solis was slain with a shotgun blast on Avenue 55 early Friday morning.
The man who was shot to death early Friday morning in Highland Park is 22-year-old Juan José Solis, according to Los Angeles police.
Solis was slain by a single shotgun blast to the neck behind 207 Ave. 55 at about 12:50 a.m. Friday.
Los Angels Police Department homicide detective Ubaldo Zesati said Solis was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.

The killing is believed to be gang related, Zesati said.
Zesati said the shooter has been described by witnesses as a Hispanic man about 19-23 years old, 6 feet tall and 170 pounds. The color of his eyes and hair were not known. He was wearing a white, hooded sweatshirt and dark pants at the time of the incident, Zesati said.

Anyone with any information about the shooting is asked to call LAPD Northeast homicide detectives at 323-344-5744 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, or the Northeast station's watch commander at 323-344-5701.
The shooting is the second homicide in the Cypress Park-Highland Park area this week. On Tuesday, 33-year-old Henry Keola Kaiwi was shot to death ion Idell Street in Cypress Park.
