Downed Lines Lead to Monte Vista Power Outages

Nearly 3,000 LADWP customers were without power as a result of a downed power line on Tuesday evening.

About 2,600 Department of Water and Power customers in Highland Park were without electricity as of Tuesday evening due to downed power lines.

Mary Anne Pierson of LADWP said the outage occurred about 2:15 p.m. in
the area of Monte Vista just south of Avenue 59.

"It could have been a car running into a pole or a tree branch,'' she
said of the outage's cause. "I just don't know."

"It gave me a chance to refresh my battery supply and make sure all my emergency kit flashlights were working," she said. "Hope the rest get it back soon."
